Chronic Reflux Following Sleeve Gastrectomy

15-20% of patients with pre-existing GERD experience worsening of symptoms following sleeve gastrectomy surgery. Research also confirms GERD has been found to be induced in about 10% of patients who have no history of symptoms prior to surgery. Converting the sleeve to a gastric bypass can eliminate this issue.
